Family Promise of Atlantic County

FPAC News and Updates  ~ Barb Sabath

So much has happened: We have been blessed by Borgata’s Heart and Soul Foundation with $5000!  The coin drop on September 16th, sponsored by Absecon UMC, brought in $2500. Hopefully, next September we can get more communities involved. FPAC will have a new retractable banner to display at events; cost was provided by an anonymous donor. FPAC will also have magnetic clips with our logo to give away at various events. FPAC is selling beautiful note cards. A pack of 10 includes photos of waterscapes and birds, taken along The Great Egg Harbor River and at The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge by Lynn Wood. Cards are blank inside. Consider them for gifts. The cost is $15 per package. Purchase cards through Janet Longo at Cindy Sidrane and I spent the day at Absegami High School to participate in the Coalition of Safe Communities’ Family Relationship Forum to connect with families and agencies. Mike Andrews and I attended a mini-conference at Stockton to connect with guidance counselors and will be attending the National Family Promise convention in Washington, DC. Our two recent restaurant fundraisers brought in $700! Our recent Silver Coin Diner Fundraiser in Hammonton was a success, too! A big thank you goes out to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish for showering us with baby items from their annual baby shower!

Thanks to all of you for your support and to all the churches who are hosting. We are all working together to help families in our county!

Are You “Driven” to Help Family Promise? Please prayerfully consider volunteering for the unique ministry of driving our van, a 15-passenger Dodge Ram. A regular driver’s license is all that is required and we are fully insured. You would come to the Day Center to pick up the van and then return it to the Day Center when finished. The whole trip takes about an hour and a half of your time. In the morning, on school days, you will want to pick up the van by 6:00 a.m. If you might be interested., contact me right away at (609) 513-3758.  -Mike Andrews, Director
