Reverend David Schumacher was appointed to Zion in July of 2008.  He came to us from Ewan United Methodist Church where he served as pastor, and before that he was the Associate Pastor at Elmer United Methodist Church.  Pastor Dave received his Master of Divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and also a Master of Arts in Religion from Temple University.  Prior to being appointed at Elmer UMC he worked for nearly fifteen years as a mental health social worker.  Pastor Dave is married to Pam, a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, who teaches Special Education in Downe Township.  Dave and Pam have two children.  Their son, Ryan, is a a free-lance photographer and film editor for a local communications company.  Their daughter, Erin, attends Egg Harbor Township High School.

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is the administrative unit in a local church where staff and congregational interests are integrated to focus on the mission of the church.  The committee relates to all staff, both bishop-appointed staff and employed staff.

The Stewardship and Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing the monetary and budget needs of the church. The financial secretary is responsible for counting and depositing all money that is donated to the church. The financial treasurer is responsible for paying most of the bills of the church. All members of the committee help to prepare a budget every year which is presented to the church council and to assist in anyway possible in assuring that the church is operating in a fiscally sound and spiritually responsible manner. It is the committee’s responsibility to encourage good stewardship practices of all members and attendees with regards to their financial support of the Lord’s work through our church.
